The Department of General and Laparoscopic Surgery is one of the most important medical departments at Ibn Sina Specialized Hospital, it is distinguished by its comprehensiveness of various surgical subspecialties, in which various complex and delicate surgeries, traditional and laparoscopic surgeries, programmed and emergency surgeries are performed.

Trauma Surgery

The greatest responsibility in treating injuries in Palestine lies on general surgery. Our surgeons are ATLS certified.

Emergency surgeries

General surgeons have special training in diagnosing and performing emergency surgical procedures. They deal with bleeding, infections, intestinal obstructions and viscus perforations cases.

Laparoscopic Surgery

It is one of the new specialties that depends on the use of precise techniques and tools using the camera by making small cuts instead of the traditional large incision, surgeons insert a special camera and special tools to perform the surgery. Laparoscopic surgery is considered appropriate and safe when performing operations that require entry into the abdominal cavity.

Colorectal Surgery

General surgeons, in cooperation with the gastroenterology unit, treat many colon and rectum diseases, including inflammatory bowel diseases such as (ulcerative colon & Crohn’s disease), Appendicitis, colon cancer, gastrointestinal bleeding, hemorrhoids, and various anal conditions.

Endocrine surgery

The Department of General Surgery offers surgical and medical treatment of endocrine diseases. Surgeons can perform hemi or total thyroidectomy, par-thyroidectomy, laparoscopic adrenalectomy or open surgery.

Bariatric surgery

General, Laparoscopic Surgery Consultant

Dr. Tawfeeq Ali T. Al – Shoubaki is a specialist in General Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, and Oncology Surgery. He is currently the Head of the General and Laparoscopic Surgery Department at Ibn Sina Specialized Hospital.
Prior to joining Ibn Sina Specialized Hospital in Jenin, Dr. Al – Shoubaki worked at Arab Specialization hospiatal-Nablus.
Dr. Al – Shoubaki graduated from the Faculty of Medicine from An-Najah National University – Palestine. He continued his specialized training in General Surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery at Specialty Hospital –Amman, Jordan, and completed his specialization in Oncology Surgery at King Hussain Cancer Center-Jordan.
